Five Dresses to Wear Post-Pregnancy

I’m 39 weeks pregnant, and I’m huge. You know you are big when only a few of your maternity clothes actually fit. I’m just ready to be comfortable in my own body and what I wear. I’ve got a few clothing items on my wish list for post pregnancy. I’m dreaming of a wardrobe that’s nursing friendly and comfortable, with pieces that can easily be styled for a more put-together look. Here are five clothing brands that produce dresses with new mothers in mind.  I’d love for you to share in the comments some of your secrets for dressing during those in between post pregnancy months.

Plain Jane // the creator first designed “play gowns” for her daughters to wear around the house. then she designed a similar concept dress for mothers to feel comfortable and confident wearing. thus the 24 hour dress was created. image credit – Poppy Stripe 24 hour dress.

Boob // joanna goddard of a cup of jo has consistently raved about boob nursing wear. just take a look at their site and you’ll see they produce stylish and functional clothes for women, with a strong commitment to quality and sustainability. i’d like to have one of everything they make, but the tilda dress is among my favorites.

Sonnet James // wouldn’t you just love a mom who created a dress with a flattering silhouette, yet was durable and machine washable (hallelujah!). well that’s just what whitney did when she created sonnet james dresses. these dresses have been on my wish list for quite some time after spotting them on naomi. image credit – reese navy.

Dwell and Slumber // jade and nicole have created the “modern house dress you can live and sleep in.” wear these dresses from day to night, dress them up or down, wear them when you’re pregnant and when you’re nursing. sounds perfect to me! image credit – cozy olive

Latch // this company strives to make stylish clothing that makes breastfeeding a natural, normal part of motherhood. their dresses  are made from ethically produced organic cotton and provide sustainable work for women in honduras. you can certainly feel comfortable, stylish and proud to wear one of their pieces. image credit the little black dress
